CHANGES TO NEWMARKET AND BURY ST EDMUNDS HEARING AID CLINICS MARCH 2023 Newmarket - The Hearing Aid Clinic at Newmarket on 28th March has been cancelled. All patients with booked appointments have been offered alternative times. Please note that drop-in for batteries and tubing are not available on that date. Bury St Edmunds - BSE clinic will now finish at 2.30, instead of 3.00.

NHS Hearing Aid wearers can pick up batteries at Stevenage Indoor Market Wednesdays - Fridays 9.30am until 3pm, and Saturdays 9.30am until 12.30pm.

Volunteer's lunch
After what seems like such a long time apart we finally got to see some of our volunteers earlier this month. A small lunch was held in Welwyn village for Hertfordshire volunteers. It was lovely to catch up with everyone for the first time since the pandemic. With clinics up and running again we hope to see more of you!

New 999 BSL app
New BSL999 app 999 BSL is a new Emergency Video Relay Service (VRS) service for deaf BSL users to contact the emergency services through a BSL interpreter. The service launched on 17th June 2022 and is available to download as a smartphone app (iOS and Android) and access as a web-based platform. Click here to see the demonstation video

Work Experience
The Grand daughter of our lovely volunteer Jenny Begg came into the office for some work experience today. We put Lily to work updating our appointment sheets for the mobile service. Having a visitor gave us a good excuse to bring out the cream cakes!

The services will not be able to be run in the same was as before Covid, however, we can fully satisfy your hearing aid maintenance needs. In Ipswich, Felixstowe, Lowestoft, Woodbridge, Newmarket and Haverhill we can offer hearing aid repairs and maintenance. You can book your hearing aids in for same day repair. LIPREADING RETURNS TO THE CLASSROOM
Throughout the pandemic we have been offering Lip Reading classes via Zoom. These have been hugely popular and we will continue doing this. However, we are pleased to announce that in the new academic year (Sept 2021 onwards) physical classes will be returning. The City of Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory, with a population of over 34,000 people, and served by regular flights from a number of Airports from the UK mainland. Our volunteer staff have informally adopted Gibraltar as part of our coverage, and offer support to the Gibraltar Hearing Impairment and Tinnitus Association, GHITA.
