Background:
Many hard of hearing people have benefited from assistive equipment issued by Hertfordshire's Sensory Services Deaf Team. Such equipment helps the individual cope with situations that people with normal hearing take for granted, e.g. hearing the doorbell, hearing the telephone ring, hearing a smoke alarm, listening to TV/radio or simple one to one communication.
This service has been developed to measure how well clients cope with their issued equipment and to provide a source of support and encouragement to them.
Main purpose of the Role:
- To provide a follow-up home visit to assess the competence of clients, to use recently issued assistive equipment by HCC Sensory Services Deaf Team.
- To provide Sensory Services with a way of measuring and evaluating how well their equipment service is running.
- To use your knowledge, positive outlook, sensitive and friendly approach to put our clients at ease, making it easier to deal with any problems they may be having.
