Mission Statement

For many people, hearing loss can be both bewildering and isolating. Hearing aids should be used properly and need regular maintenance to obtain the best from them. Technical equipment can also assist people to hear much better at home and at work. This is why our services can really help.

Information on hearing loss

Through this free county-wide service, our trained volunteers visit residential homes, sheltered accommodation, day centres and people in their own homes by prior arrangement.

Hearing aid, technical and practical support

Our Hearing Support Service can provide basic hearing aid maintenance and demonstrate assistive equipment to people living in areas of Hertfordshire not covered by our Hearing Aider Service. Please note that we do NOT supply hearing aids, perform hearing tests or make earmoulds. For these you should make an appointment with your local hospital through your doctor.


Technical Advisory Service

A wide range of assistive equipment for home and work is displayed at The Woodside Centre in Welwyn Garden City, including:
TV and radio listening aids
Baby, smoke and fire alarms
Flashing and loud door bells
Telephones with amplifiers and inductive couplers, extension bells, tone callers and flashing lights
Text telephones

Thursdays 10am - 3pm Appointment required
4th Saturday in each month 9:30am - 12 noon Drop in. NO appointment needed
