Hearing Aider training
HHAS' Hearing Aider training is a one-day course on hearing aid maintenance and deaf awareness for care home staff.
The course gives front-line staff in care, residential or nursing homes the opportunity to get hands-on experience in maintaining NHS hearing aids. Staff will learn how to maintain a range of hearing aids in a safe and hygienic way and will enable them to help service users get the most from their hearing aid.
The course, which can be done in-house or at an outside location, can also help with evidence-based training in health and social care.
By the end of the day's training, your staff will know how to:
- Re-tube, clean, reassemble and fit hearing aids correctly
- Troubleshoot common hearing aid problems
- Help service users by developing their listening confidence
- Identify parts of the ear and causes of deafness
- Use communication tactics effectively with hearing impaired people
